SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE THIRTY THIRD DEGREE FOR

THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR

The Supreme Council is constituted by members who posses the thirty third  degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, being an honorary degree awarded for exceptional service to the community or  the craft.

Masonry initiated in El Salvador on April 25,1882 with the foundation of Lodge Excelsior 17, conforming later in conjunction with another lodges, the Gran Logia Cuscatlan de El Salvador on September 22, 1932, thus being the Rectorial Organism of the Salvadoran Masonry since that time, following with the constitution of the Supreme Council on October 21, 1960.

We have the official recognition of the Gran Logia Cuscatlan de El Salvador as the Rectorial Organism of all the Phylosophical degrees.

It holds Universal recognition from all the Supreme Councils fron around the world. Our Supreme Council dictates guidelines for the functioning of all the phylosophical degrees, assisted by the Grand Consistory which holds the administrative control of the chambers.

In order to belong to the Phylosophical degrees it is necessary to have developed the Symbolic ones, and to continue being an active or honorary member of them.

PRINCIPLES OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL

According to the declaration issued by the Congress of Supreme Councils of the Antique and Accepted Scottish Rite gathered in Lausanne, Switzerland in September 1875, which declares:

-         Masonry does not limit the freedom of investigation of the thruth and to guarantee it, demand absolute tolerance.

-         Masonry is open to all man of any race, nationality or believes.

-         Prohibits in their works all discussion on Politics and Religion, admitting any man of any beliefs on these matters.

-         Their objectives are to fight against any representation of ignorance, it is a mutual school of learning whose Program promotes to obey the laws of the country where it acts, to live with honor, to practice justice, to love their equals and to work without rest for the good of humanity.
